Pennsylvania Guardsman Instructs Kenyans In Combat Care:

The Pennsylvania National Guard and other U.S. military personnel facilitated a three-day training event with Kenyan Rangers and Infantrymen at Kenya Navy Base Manda Bay. 

DMVA Helps Veterans Receive Vital Benefits Earned By Locating Lost Military Documents:

The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) encourages veterans who need assistance with locating their lost DD Form 214 (DD-214) and other military documents to contact the DMVA so they can get credit for time served and receive veteran benefits they have earned.

Fort Indiantown Gap Announces Trainings, Possible Increased Nose Levels:

Residents near Fort Indiantown Gap could hear increased noise throughout July as training is conducted. The installation issued a public notice for two training exercises to be held later this month. 

Pennsylvania Legislator Deployed With National Guard Has Bill Signed Into Law:

A local state representative is abroad, serving his country in the National Guard. Here at home, a bill he introduced to recognize fellow servicemembers and veterans has become law.

"I Wish This Could Be Done For Everybody": Wilkinsburg Veteran Receives Free New Roof:

Robert Rawlings’ Wilkinsburg home received a new roof as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project. He’s an Army veteran who served eight years and was selected for the roof replacement through a partnership with Purple Heart Homes, a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor veterans who served our country and the families who support them.

Northumberland County Declares Month For Veterans:

There was a full house at a recent Northumberland County commissioners meeting in Sunbury, and in attendance were some of our nation's bravest. On this day, commissioners designated the month of July as Veterans and Armed Forces Month.

Dillsburg Restaurant Raising Money For Tiny Home Village:

Greystone Brew House in Dillsburg gave a check for $70,000 to Veterans Outreach of Pennsylvania. Greystone raised the money this past spring during its Kentucky Derby Day event. The money will go to Veterans Grove, the 15 tiny homes Veterans Outreach built near Harrisburg to shelter homeless vets and get them back on their feet.

July Donation Drive To Benefit Homeless Veterans, Deployed Troops:

A non-profit organization has launched its 4th annual Summer Donation Drive, which benefits local homeless veterans and deployed troops.

Pennsylvania's Office of Comptroller Operations is seeking an accounting manager to lead its human services grant accounting unit. The accounting manager directs and manages the staff and accounting operations of the human services grant unit within the general accounting division of the Bureau of Accounting and Financial Management. We are looking for someone who possesses an in-depth knowledge of professional accounting principles, proven team-building, and effective managerial practices in planning and directing the operations efficiently.
