Pennsylvania State Veterans Commission Meeting:

This meeting with take place on Friday, June 7 starting at 10 a.m., at the Arrowheads Community Club, located at 9-65 Fisher Ave., Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA 17042.

100-Year-Old WWII Veteran Enjoys Day Of Fishing With Buddies:

About 40 veterans from six veterans home facilities visited Clark’s Creek at Dauphin County Anglers and Conservationists for the annual adjutant general fishing tournament. 

DMVA Hosted Guard-Veterans Day At The Capitol, Highlighting Its Past, Present And Future:

The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) hosted a Guard and Veterans Day event at the state capitol, showcasing its dual mission of supporting the Pennsylvania National Guard (PNG) and Pennsylvania veterans. The day featured a special guest: Benjamin Melvin Berry (Quartermaster Corps 3rd US Army) of Philadelphia who fought in the Battle of the Bulge: Berry participated in an enlistment ceremony for 20 recruits.

Pennsylvania Army National Guard Members To Train Ukrainian Forces:

Members of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard will assist with training Ukrainian forces as their war with Russia continues. According to the National Guard, the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division, will mobilize to the Joint Multinational Training Center in Germany to assist with training.

Veterans Find Healing Working With Horses:

Joanne Parchetta is one of many veterans benefitted by the Center for Equine Recovery, a program at Middle Tennessee State University. The program welcomes veterans in from the Veterans Recovery Center, which is a part of Tennessee Valley VA in Murfreesboro, TN.

NCA's Cemetery Restoration Project Thrives:

Since 2020, the National Cemetery Administration’s (NCA) Cemetery Restoration Project has formed partnerships that aim to educate communities about private cemetery owners and the caretakers who honor and memorialize veterans buried without headstones.

Unmanaged stress can affect your overall well-being and lead to anxiety, high blood pressure, heart disease, depression, substance misuse and more. Managing stress can be additionally challenging for those with PTSD— a condition that is more common among veterans than civilians.

The PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is looking to hire an audit specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing work papers, permanent files, and reports. Your duties will involve analyzing financial data, assessing management practices, and making recommendations to enhance operations and ensure adherence to laws and regulations, ultimately improving the department's efficiency and effectiveness. PA Deputy Adjutant General, Brig. Gen. Maureen Weigl (PA) To Speak At Veterans Leadership Summit:
