Work Underway On Marquette Lake Bridge Project At Fort Indiantown Gap:

Work recently began to replace the bridge over Indiantown Run that connects Lake Road at Marquette Lake with Asher Miner Road (Route 443).

Veterans of the Vietnam war gathered at Erie County Veterans Memorial Park to commemorate those who are still with us and remember those who've been lost.

The American Veterans (AMVETS) Thrift Store in Erie, PA, held their official grand opening. Clothing, shoes, housewares, electronics, books and more can be found at the store.

Lehigh Valley Rep To Host Veteran Assistance Hours In Bethlehem:

A local representative in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives is setting aside time to help local veterans. Veterans can get help with compensation, pension and death benefits, education and health care and other benefits.     

16,167 PA Veterans Enrolled In VA Health Care Over Past 365 Days, A 54.07% Increase:

The Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it has enrolled 16,167 Pennsylvania veterans in VA health care over the past 365 days - 54.07% more than it enrolled the previous year.

On April 19, an American Flag flown by Army Special Operations will embark on a 1,600-mile journey from Pennsylvania to Illinois. 

Vetrepreneur Has Empowering Experience At DAV Patriot Boot Camp:

Applications for the next DAV Patriot Boot Camp, to be held May 15-17 at DAV National Headquarters near Cincinnati, Ohio, can be found at patriotbootcamp.org. The deadline to apply is April 29, 2024. 

Nearly 250,000 Veterans To Receive Payouts In 3M Earplug Settlement:

More than 249,000 veterans will receive part of the $6 billion lawsuit settlement against 3M as part of the Combat Arms Earplug settlement announced in 2023, corporate officials announced.

New Prostatectomy Surgery Is Minimally Invasive:

Houston VA continued its expansion of minimally invasive surgeries recently by performing its first single-port robotic simple prostatectomy using the state-of-the-art da Vinci Surgical System.

VA Offering Updated Covid-19 Vaccines:

VA is offering updated COVID-19 vaccines for the 2023-2024 season, including an additional dose for people 65 years and older.

Tour Of Honor Kicks Off With Seven Locations In PA:

For 14 years, the Tour of Honor motorcycle tour has selected up to seven veteran memorials in each state to create a self-guided, self-paced ride, as a fundraiser for three charities: Fisher House Foundation, Gold Star Family Memorial Foundation and Gary Sinise Foundation First Responder Outreach. This year's Pennsylvania locations are: Hopwood (Fayette County), Newtown Square (Delaware County), Newville (Perry County), Petersburg (Huntingdon County), Sheffield (Warren County), Shohola (Pike County), and Towanda (Bradford County). Riders can decide on their own where they visit and when, within the seven-month period that runs April 1 through October 31, 2024.
