PA National Guard Soldier Receives Prestigious ROTC Award:

Second Lt. Lea Lenker received the Capt. Brian Faunce Memorial Scholarship Award, which is presented annually to a graduating Penn State Army ROTC student who best demonstrates the spirit, leadership and courage of Faunce.

Four PA Guard Members Make All-Guard Marathon Team:

Staff Sgt. Tyler Lundquist, Capt. Matthew Stern, Sgt. 1st Class Earnest Fullwood and Lt. Col. Deborah Fisher will now travel around the country representing the National Guard at other races over the next two years.

Northern Lebanon School District Poised To Sell Elementary Schools To DMVA, IU13:

The Northern Lebanon School District is in talks to sell two of its elementary schools to the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), and a third to IU13, as it prepares to open a new combined elementary facility in August 2023.

DMVA Reminds Eligible Pennsylvania Veterans To Apply For Amputee And Paralyzed Veterans Pension:

Military veterans all sacrifice in service to their country, and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) knows that for some veterans, the sacrifice is far greater than others. That is why we are proud to administer the Amputee and Paralyzed Veterans Pension to eligible veterans. 

DMVA's Veterans Temporary Assistance Program:

The Veterans Temporary Assistance program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), provides temporary financial assistance to veterans and their beneficiaries who reside in Pennsylvania for the necessities of life (food, dairy, shelter, fuel and clothing).

Real Estate Tax Exemption:

The Real Estate Tax Exemption program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) and provides real estate tax exemption to any honorably discharged veteran who is 100 percent disabled, a resident of the commonwealth and has a financial need.

Donate To Support Pennsylvania Veterans' Memorial:

The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) reminds Pennsylvanians that this is a great time to give to programs that support the commonwealth's veterans, active military and their families. Located at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Lebanon County, and maintained by the DMVA, the Pennsylvania Veterans' Memorial is the first in the commonwealth to honor veterans of all eras from the Revolutionary War forward and it is the largest veterans memorial located in any of the national cemeteries. Donations are accepted online or by mail to help fund the maintenance and repair of the memorial.

Lebanon High School Welcomes Junior ROTC Demonstration:

Cadets with the Junior ROTC program organized a demonstration of military services for the student body. The National Guard flew in a helicopter, the Army provided a tactical vehicle and the Marines brought in a working K9, all to give students an appreciation of military service.

The Chester County Department of Veterans Affairs and the County’s Veterans Advisory Council announce the county’s first Veterans Resource Fair, providing valuable information for veterans on programs and services that benefit them and their families.

Pa. Wilds Center Seeks Full Environmental Impact Statement For Proposed Low-Level Flights:

In response to a proposal from the Maryland Air National Guard (ANG) to conduct low-altitude military training over a significant portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds, the nonprofit that promotes the 13-county region is asking the ANG to conduct a full Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to holistically evaluate the proposal.

More than 200 Airmen and Soldiers representing the National Guard from all 50 states, three U.S. territories and the District of Columbia ran the 46th annual Lincoln Marathon May 7, competing for a spot on the National Guard Military Competitions All Guard Marathon Team.

Take Advantage Of VA Life Insurance Programs During National Military Appreciation Month:

Veterans Group Life Insurance (VGLI) allows veterans to extend and keep their life insurance coverage after leaving the military. The VGLI provides coverage up to the amount of Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGLI) coverage that the veteran had while in service, and premium rates are based on age and the amount of coverage desired.

Are you looking for your service records, or those of a family member? The National Archives in St. Louis, MO, is the official repository of millions of records for all military personnel—from all service branches—who served during the late 19th and 20th century.

PA Department Of Corrections Seeks Plumbing Trade Instructor:

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill is actively seeking a devoted and passionate plumbing trade instructor. You will be providing on-the-job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates and instruction in the areas of general plumbing maintenance, preventative plumbing maintenance, and installation of new plumbing fixtures and equipment. You will be planning and assigning work to inmates receiving plumbing training and reviewing and inspecting work in progress and upon completion.

CompeerCorps Plans Annual Warrior Motorcycle Run For Armed Forces Day:

Area motorcyclists and other riders will experience an enjoyable ride, while raising funds for CompeerCorp, an organization dedicated to providing friendship to veterans and improving mental health. The 75-mile route includes five stops, starting at American Legion Post 910 in Lickdale and ending at American Legion Post 883 in Jonestown. Registration fee is $25 per rider and $15 per passenger.
