Pennsylvania Army, Air National Guard Conduct Joint Training:

Approximately 25 U.S. Soldiers and Airmen with the Pennsylvania National Guard worked together Oct. 13 to load a UH-60M Blackhawk helicopter onto a C-17 cargo aircraft and transport it from Army Aviation Support Facility in Johnstown, Pa., to Pittsburgh and back.

The remains of Army Corporal Francis James Jury, who fought in the Korean War were laid to rest Wednesday At Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education provides guidance on the granting of a high school diploma to World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans who did not graduate due to entry into military service. Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949 gives boards of school directors the power to confer honorary academic degrees.

Greenfield Township To Dedicate Veterans Monument:

A monument honoring township residents who have served in the armed forces will be dedicated on Veterans Day. The November 11 event will include a ceremony from 2-2:30 p.m. at the site at 424 Route 106 and a reception in the township Fire Department hall.

Department Of Labor To Hold Federal Hiring Workshops:

The Department of Labor has created a series of in-person Off-Base Transition Training courses for veterans, veterans currently serving in the National Guard and Reserve, and their spouses. These federal hiring workshops are designed to provide a better understanding of the federal hiring process, including information on identifying preferences and executive hiring orders for veterans.

PA DMVA's Southwestern Veterans' Center To Host Veterans Resource Fair And Tailgate Party:

Southwestern Veterans' Center will host over 30 different organizations that provide services and programs to veterans and military families on Oct. 20, 2023, from 2-6 p.m. Attendees will be able to connect with these organizations directly, meet local sports legends, enjoy family friendly games and entertainment, food trucks, sports mascots, marching bands and more. Learn about opportunities available to the military community, connect with other veterans, and discover opportunities to volunteer to support different organizations in the Pittsburgh area.
